The 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has reached its last stop. This season has also seen some players who have retired from international cricket or have not played for their country for a long time. Let’s know about some such players-
1. MS Dhoni: Former India captain MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in the year 2020, but he continued to play IPL. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni scored 232 runs in 14 matches at an average of 33.14 in IPL 2022, including one half-century.
2. Faf du Plessis: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team has reached the playoffs under the captaincy of former South African captain Faf du Plessis. Du Plessis has shown a great run with the bat in the current season, scoring a total of 443 runs in 14 matches at an average of 34.08. The 37-year-old du Plessis has not played any international matches since February 2021.
3. Kieron Pollard: Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard retired from international cricket in the middle of IPL 2022. Pollard appeared in a total of 11 matches for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2022. During this, in addition to scoring 144 runs for the team, Pollard also took four wickets.
4. Dwayne Bravo: Caribbean all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is the highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL. Bravo took 16 wickets at an average of 18.69 in 10 matches for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022. Bravo had said goodbye to international cricket after the T20 World Cup 2021.
5. Sunil Narine: Spin bowler Sunil Narine played an international match for West Indies in August 2019. Naren is a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in the IPL. In IPL 2022, Sunil Narine took nine wickets in 14 matches at an average of 34.67.
6. Robin Uthappa: Chennai Super Kings batsman Robin Uthappa played 12 matches in IPL 2022, in which he scored 230 runs with the help of two half-centuries. Robin Uthappa, 36, last played for India in July 2015.
