Do you sleep during work? New technology in Japan, employees will be able to sleep standing in the office

Japanese Company Develops Nap Boxes: Japan is known for its unique technology and now the country is all set to introduce Standing Sleep Pods so that employees can get power naps. Tokyo-based furniture supplier Itoki Office offered a solution for those who want to take a power nap during the day. This is now possible in collaboration with plywood supplier Koyoju Gohan KK. Long office hours have been a major concern among employees in Japan, and both companies seek to provide a solution to the problem.

Employees locked themselves in the bathroom for rest

Sakko Kawashima, the communications manager for furniture manufacturer Itoki, told the reporters, “In Japan, there are a lot of people who lock themselves in the bathroom for a while, which I don’t think is fair. It is preferable to sleep in a cozy environment. A device like a water heater is designed to ensure that the head, knees, and back are well-rested so that people feel comfortable enough to lie down without worrying about falling. Do it. The designers hope the ‘nap box’ will help address Japan’s office culture.

Soon this machine will reach many companies in Japan

Kawashima said, ‘I think a lot of Japanese people work continuously without a break. We are hoping that companies can use this in a more flexible way to relax. Many companies across the world are coming up with new ideas to help employees work longer hours. Wakefit, a Bengaluru-based start-up, is allowing 600 of its employees to sleep at work as part of its new ‘nap to nap’ policy. According to an internal email sent to employees in May, Wakefit co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingagowda announced that staff members would now be allowed to take naps of up to 30 minutes at work.
