Honda Civic Type R: In celebration of the Civic nameplate’s 50th anniversary, Honda has finally introduced the new Civic Type R. It’s not, unfortunately, for India. It was presented in Europe. Beginning in 2023, a new Civic Type R will be sold throughout Europe. Significantly, the brand-new Civic Type R variant just beat the front-wheel drive lap record at the Japanese racetrack Suzuka. It will have optimized components, according to Honda. Additionally, the new model’s design has been changed to make it more aerodynamic. The 2017 Civic Type R is the most powerful and responsive model yet thanks to lighter components and an updated powertrain.
The recently unveiled Civic E: HEV serves as the foundation for the new Honda Civic Type R. To give the new sporty model a more athletic appearance, it has been made wider and lower. It has lightweight 19-inch matte black alloy wheels with wide rims and custom Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. It has a sizable grille at the bottom that is intended to improve airflow through the engine. To further enhance the airflow over the front end, the bonnet includes a vent.
The aerodynamics of the Civic Type R is further improved with wide air vents behind the front wheels and a massive rear diffuser. In addition to Historic Championship White, Solid Rally Red, Racing Blue, Crystal Black, and Sonic Gray Pearl, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R is also available in other colors. The new Type R’s interior mirrors the Civic e: cabin. HEV’s new 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital cockpit, and sports seats are included, though.
Honda hasn’t disclosed the 2017 Civic Type R’s specifications, but it has said that it would have a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. It is touted as being the most potent Civic ever.
