Vaishno Devi Mata: The 60-year-old travel slip system will be discontinued, which is big news for tourists to Vaishno Devi.

Darshan of Vaishno Devi: The Vaishno Devi travel slip system, which has been in operation for 60 years, will soon be shut down entirely. The RFID card must be used in place of the travel slip once the new system is in place. The Shrine Board is continually taking action to ensure the passengers’ safety.

If you’ve ever been to Mata Vaishno Devi, you know that pilgrims need a travel slip in order to enter Banganga. In other words, you must enter from Banganga by using the travel slip as your first stop. However, you won’t receive a travel authorization to visit in the near future. In fact, the Shrine Board is developing new technology to replace the travel slip. The 60-year-old practice of travel slips will come to an end after the adoption of modern technology.

August will mark the commencement of the new system.

In fact, the Shrine Board is taking a number of actions to ensure the safety of the passengers in response to the disaster in the building on January 1, 2022. The new technology Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) service is one of them in place of the passenger slip. Since August, the new RFID service has been required. In other words, you won’t need to fill out a passenger form if you go for darshan starting in the next month.

Describe an RFID card.

The server will be connected to the fully chipped RFID card. Additionally, a control room specifically for this has been built up. The card will have the devotee’s picture and complete information. Before the Yatra begins, the RFID card will be obtained at the Shrine Board’s Yatra Registration Counter. This card must be given back to the devotee once the voyage is complete. Similar to a metro token, this card can be used several times.

After darshan, the card needs to be given back.

An RFID costs Rs. 10 in price. However, the Shrine Board will provide it to the followers for no charge. The cost will be covered by the Shrine Board itself. A Pune-based company has been awarded the RFID card contract by the Shrine Board. If you register online, you will receive a message on your phone when you arrive in Katra telling you when and where to pick up your RFID card. For this, a wireless fidelity facility is being created.

When did the travel slip started?

The Information Department began the system of travel slips for the followers for the first time in 1962. The travel slip was handed over to the department of tourism in 1970. The management of travel slips was transferred to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board following its establishment in 1986. By closing this facility, the RFID card system is currently being implemented.
