To overcome this, the new policy prepared by the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) will be implemented before the festive season.
Under the policy, diesel BS4 cars will be banned in the city to bring the air pollution under control if the air pollution exceeds 450 AQI. In addition, you won’t be permitted to operate BS-3 petrol vehicles. However, this restriction will not apply to vehicles utilized for critical services.
Due to air pollution, “state governments in Delhi-NCR may ban BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel light motor vehicles (four wheelers) under Stage 1 regulations,” according to the Ministry of Environment and Forests. 3 in Delhi-NCR.” Stage 3 is called when the AQI is between 401 and 450. On the other hand, if the AQI crosses the 450 mark, it will be called Stage 4.
The policy also states that petrol pumps located in Delhi-NCR will not be allowed to fuel vehicles not holding a valid pollution-under-check certificate with effect from January 1, 2023.
