Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV: Mahindra has introduced its first electric SUV in the Indian market, which has been named XUV400. The test drive of the XUV400 for the customers will start in December 2022, while its price will be announced in January 2023. If seen, this is the electric version of the company’s XUV300 subcompact SUV, but many changes have also been made to it. The first change is its length. This is a car over 4 meters long. The XUV400 measures 4,200mm in length and 1821mm in width. While its wheelbase is 2600mm. Passengers will get the direct benefit of increasing the length in the form of more legroom and boot space.
Another major change is the copper element found on the exterior. The copper insert is visible from the roof to the headlight, taillight, logo, and front bumper. At the front, you get a plastic insert instead of the radiator grille. It has Daytime Running Lights (DRL) with headlights. Although fog lamps are not available. On the side are 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear are the newly designed taillamps. Its boot space is 378 liters.
The layout of the interior is very similar to that of the XUV300. It gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Auto climate controls are found just below the touchscreen. Apart from this, features like auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, power foldable wing mirrors, and drive modes remain the same as the XUV300. It has over 60 connected car features, including smartphone connectivity.
According to the company, it has a battery pack of 39.4 kW, which will offer a range of around 450KM on a full charge. It’s electric motor produces 145 Bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque. It takes only 50 minutes to charge the battery up to 80 percent with a 50 kW DC fast charger. Whereas it will take 13 hours for a full charge from the domestic socket. The new Mahindra XUV400 will compete with the MG ZS EV, Tata Nexon EV, and Tata Nexon EV Max.
