According to Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Shashank Srivastava, “We expect that the total sales quantity (of compact cars) would improve, but as a fraction of the total number of passenger vehicles, which is currently Is. 38 percent, there may be a shortfall in it. The share of hatchbacks in the total passenger vehicle market was around 45-46 percent, but it has come down to around 38 percent last year.
