Big update on Old Pension, this CM did not listen to the Centre; Told – where will the money come from?

Recently, the Central Government cleared the situation regarding the implementation of the old pension scheme. In response to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwant Karad flatly refused to implement the old pension scheme. He also said that some states have issued notifications at their level to implement Old Pension (OPS). The government wants to clarify that there is no provision for a refund of NPS.

The government will fulfill the promise

Despite the refusal of the central government, the Himachal government has once again talked about restoring the old pension scheme. The newly appointed Chief Minister of the state Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that in the first meeting of the cabinet, the government will fulfill the promise of implementing the old pension scheme for the government employees. He said during an interview, ‘We have talked to the Finance Secretary, we know from where we have to arrange money and where to invest? Work has started on the old pension and will be presented in the first cabinet meeting.

When asked about the cabinet

Detailing, he said it would be done soon. In fact, after the Congress won the Himachal elections, there was news that there was a tussle in the party for the Chief Minister’s post. However, Chief Minister Sukhu has denied any such news. He says that due to the presence of three to four contenders in the state, there was competition for the post of Chief Minister. He also claimed that no Congress MLA would join the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also denied reports of the mobilization of some Congress MLAs. Let us tell you that Congress has won 40 out of 60 seats in Himachal Pradesh.

These states also announced

Apart from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Punjab governments have announced to restore of the old pension scheme. There is a demand from government employees to re-implement the old pension scheme which was closed in 2004. However, in the meantime, the central government has clearly refused to implement the old pension.
