Tata Motors Cars in India: This year seems to be going great for the car makers. Many companies have registered excellent growth in terms of car sales. Tata Motors is also one of them. Now Tata Motors has achieved another sales milestone. The company has registered sales of more than half a million (5 lakh) passenger vehicles in 2022. The company is looking to end the year with around 5.25 lakh units. This is the highest ever sales for Tata Motors since its launch in 1998. Compared to 2021, Tata Motors has registered a growth of 59 percent. Earlier in 2021, the carmaker had sold 3.31 lakh units.
Tata Motors’ SUV portfolio has contributed significantly to this sale due to the growing demand for SUVs among car buyers. The company’s Nexon has become a best-seller for Tata. The Nexon has consistently overtaken the Hyundai Creta in 2022, making Tata Motors the second best-selling car brand in India.
Apart from this, Tata Punch, the small SUV of Tata Motors, is also getting a lot of love. Its price starts from 6 lakh rupees. The company’s EV lineup with Nexon, Togor, and Tiago has made Tata Motors number one in electric cars as well. Tata Tigor EV is the company’s cheapest EV in India.
Apart from this, in view of the increasing demand for CNG vehicles, Tata Motors also entered this segment this year. By launching CNG version of Tigor and Tiago, the company has given direct competition to Maruti Suzuki.
