Bank Holidays January 2023: Holidays are holidays in the first month of the new year, know how many days banks will be closed

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the bank holiday list for the year 2023. There will be a total of 14 Bank Holidays January 2023 in the first month of the year i.e. January 2023. There are four Sundays in January. There will be a weekly holiday in the bank on this day. Banks will remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays as well. Not only this but due to some festivals and special days, banks will remain closed for some days in the first month of the year. If you also intend to visit the bank branch on any day of the next month, then first check the list of holidays. Let it happens that on the day you have made up your mind to go to the bank, that day becomes a bank holiday.

Significantly, in January 2023, banks across the country will not remain closed for 14 days. List of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India, many of which are national holidays, while some are local or regional holidays. Bank branches remain closed only on regional holidays in the respective states. That’s why it is not necessary that on the day banks are closed in Punjab, there should be no work in banks in Maharashtra as well.

January 2023 Holidays List

  • January 1, 2023 – Due to Sunday, banks will remain closed in the whole country.
  • 2 January 2023 – Bank will remain closed on New Year holiday in Mizoram.
  • 11 January 2023 – All banks will be closed in Mizoram on the occasion of Missionary Day.
  • 12 January 2023 – On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, there will be a bank holiday in West Bengal.
  • 14 January 2023 – Due to the second Saturday of the month, banks will remain closed all over the country.
  • 15 January 2023 – Due to Sunday, banks will remain closed all over the country.
  • 16 January 2023 – Banks will remain closed in Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Uzhavar Thirunali, while in Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of Kanuma Panduga.
  • 22 January 2023 – Due to Sunday, banks will remain closed in the whole country.
  • 23 January 2023 – Banks will remain closed in Assam on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
  • 25 January 2023 – Banks will be on holiday in Himachal Pradesh due to Kingship Day.
  • 26 January 2023 – On the occasion of Republic Day, there will be a holiday for banks across the country.
  • 28 January 2023 – Banks will have a holiday on the occasion of the fourth Saturday of the month.
  • 29 January 2023 – Due to Sunday, banks will remain closed in the whole country.
  • 31 January 2023 – Banks are going to remain closed in Assam on the day of the Me-Dum-Me-Fee.
