Maruti Fronx Compact Crossover: Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its first Nexa-exclusive compact crossover in the country. This is Maruti Franks. This model could be available for sale in March 2023. Its prices can be released next month. Its price is expected to be around Rs 8 lakh for the entry-level variant and around Rs 11 lakh for the top variant. It will be sold from Nexa dealership. It will bridge the gap between the Baleno and the Brezza in Maruti’s portfolio.
After the launch, the new Maruti compact crossover will compete with cars like Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. Their price range is Rs 6 Lakh to Rs 9.54 Lakh, Rs 6 Lakh to Rs 10.77 Lakh, and Rs 5.97 Lakh to Rs 10.79 Lakh respectively. This sub-4 meter SUV will also rival the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300 whose prices start at Rs 7.70 lakh, Rs 7.69 lakh, Rs 7.62 lakh, and Rs 8.41 lakh respectively.
The new Maruti Fronx SUV model lineup will be made available in five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. The range-topping Alpha trim will get features like a 360-degree camera, head-up display (HUD), leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, and dual-tone color scheme.
The standard feature kit includes dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, a hill hold assist rear defogger, an electronic stability program, tilt adjustment for steering, powered windows, and a 60:40 rear seat split. It also gets automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, fabric seat upholstery, and dual-tone interiors.
The new Maruti compact crossover is offered with a choice of 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo petrol Boosterjet, and 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder NA petrol engines. It gets three gearboxes – a 5-speed manual (standard), 6-speed torque converter automatic (turbo-petrol), and 5-speed AMT (NA petrol only).
