Mahindra Thar 5-Door Engine: Mahindra is soon going to bring a 5-door version of its Thar SUV. This SUV has been seen many times during road testing. The exterior, interior, and seating layout details of the Thar 5 door were already revealed and now a new report has revealed the engine options as well. Like the three-door version of Thar, the company is also going to bring it with a 4×4 and 4×2 setup.
Petrol and diesel engine option
According to the report of Autocar India, Mahindra is going to offer petrol and diesel engine options in this SUV. Like the current Thar, it will be offered with a 2.2-liter diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options. There will be a choice of manual and automatic gearboxes. The 4X4 livery is also missing from the vehicle in a recently leaked picture, which suggests that it will come in a 4X2 setup as well.

Talking about the exterior, it can be 300mm longer than the current Thar and completely new body panels can be used in it. The overall design of the interior can be kept the same as the current Thar. It can get new features like a better infotainment screen, front center armrest and sunglass holder.
The second row of the Thar 5-door is going to offer more space, thanks to the longer wheelbase. But it remains to be seen whether Mahindra offers a three-seater bench layout or not. The boot space will also definitely be bigger than the 3-door version.
