Tata sold so many cars that everyone was surprised!

Tata Motors: Talking about the three companies that sold the most cars in the year 2022, Maruti Suzuki was at number one, Hyundai at number two, and Tata Motors at number three. But, as soon as the year 2023 starts, the whole game seems to be changing. In January 2023, Maruti Suzuki remained at number one in terms of car sales (Car Sales In January 2023) but Tata Motors came second and Hyundai slipped to number three.

Tata Motors Sales

On an annual basis, Tata Motors’ sales grew by 6.4 percent, reaching 81,069 units. The company sold a total of 76,210 units in January 2022. These include cars sold in the domestic market and cars exported to foreign markets. Talking about the sales of Tata Motors in the domestic market only, it has increased by 10 percent (year-on-year) to reach 79,681 units. A year ago in the same period (January 2022), the company sold 72,485 units.

Hyundai sales

On the other hand, if we talk about Hyundai, then the beginning of its year 2023 has not been anything special. It lagged behind Tata Motor despite a year-on-year increase in sales. In January 2023, Hyundai Motor’s total sales increased by 16.6 percent (on an annual basis) to reach 62,276 units. In January 2022, it sold a total of 53,427 vehicles. These include figures for domestic sales and exports. The company said that its domestic sales increased to 50,106 units from 44,022 units. Exports also increased by 29.4 percent to 12,170 units.
