Government of India banned these 232 apps with loan and betting, had relation with China!

Based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has banned 138 betting apps and 94 lending apps originating from China. The government has banned a total of 230 apps in India under section 69 of the IT Act. If sources are to be believed, this has been confirmed by top government officials. At the same time, it is being told that the government has taken this action on the complaints of extortion and harassment from the common people.

Apps had relation with China

The app is said to be the brainchild of Chinese nationals who allegedly hired Indians and made them key directors. As per reports, desperate individuals were lured into taking loans and were then charged interest of up to 3,000 percent annually. At the same time, when the customer could not pay the interest, the representatives of these apps started harassing him.

It is learned that several representatives of the app threatened customers by releasing morphed photos of borrowers and defaming them. The matter came into the limelight after several suicides, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, by people who took loans from such apps and lost money in betting apps. According to sources in states like Telangana, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, the central intelligence agencies then asked the Union Home Ministry to take action against the app.

Based on the inputs, the Home Ministry started an analysis of 28 Chinese lending apps six months ago. They found that 94 apps are available on the e-store and others are working through third-party links. These apps are no longer available for download on smartphones, but sources say that betting apps and games are now being downloaded through independent links or websites.
