Many cars have a waiting period of up to 1.5 years. The car with the longest waiting period in the latest list remains the Toyota Innova Highcross. There is a waiting period of up to 18 months for its powerful hybrid version. The second number is the Mahindra Thar, which has a waiting period of up to 17 months for some variants. The recently launched rear-wheel-drive Thar is in high demand owing to its affordable price tag.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser headers and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara come with the same engine, platform, and features. While the waiting period for the Hayrider is 15 months, the waiting period for the Grand Vitara is 7 months. The waiting period of Kia Sonnet of the same segment is also 9 months. The Hyundai Creta midsize SUV currently leads the segment and has a waiting period of up to 8 months.
