The Purple Cap is awarded to the bowler who records the most tournament wickets. Let us list the Indian players who have thus far won the Purple Cap in the IPL. Yuzvendra Chahal,
a spinner for the Indian side was awarded the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets during the 2017 IPL season. While playing for the Rajasthan Royals, Chahal took 27 wickets.
Harshal Patel, an uncapped player in the 2021 IPL,
wreaked havoc while playing for RCB. He earned the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets throughout the season, matching Dwayne Bravo’s record for most in a single IPL season. Patel recorded 32 dismissals.

He earned the Purple Cap this season while representing Chennai and became the bowler with the most wickets—23 wickets he took.
Pragyan Ojha,
a former Team India spinner, won the Purple Cap in 2010 while playing for the Deccan Chargers. He had the most wickets in the competition with 21.
RP Singh,
a former fast bowler for India, won the Purple Cap while playing for the Deccan Chargers in 2009. He has a total of 23 wickets in the competition.
This fast bowler took home the Purple Cap in the IPL
for two straight years. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only Indian bowler in IPL history to have twice taken home the Purple Cap. He received the Purple Cap in 2016 and 2017. He performed this feat twice, just like Sunrisers Hyderabad.
