For those who are driving down the highway, there is good news. Frequently, persons using the highway must pay a toll tax, but the central government will soon amend the regulations governing toll tax. Information on this has been provided by Nitin Gadkari. Let us inform you that a measure pertaining to toll taxes is anticipated.
Technology use will be the main emphasis.
The failure to pay toll fees is not punishable in any way, according to Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways. The Union Minister noted that in the near future, technology-based toll tax collection will also receive attention.
Preparations are being made to bring the bill
Even though there are now no provisions for sanctions for failing to pay the toll, Nitin Gadkari has stated that attempts are being made to introduce a bill dealing with tolls. The toll tax will now be immediately deducted from your bank account. There won’t be any further action taken in response to this.
There will be direct withdrawals of money from the account.
Toll taxes will now be automatically deducted from your account rather than being paid, according to Nitin Gadkari. The Union Minister said, “We established legislation in 2019 requiring cars to arrive with company-fitted number plates. As a result, the automobiles that have arrived during the past four years have a variety of license plates. By 2024, 26 green highways will be finished, putting India’s road system up to par with that of the United States. The Union Minister noted that in the near future, technology-based toll tax collection will also receive attention.
Which rules apply this time?
According to Nitin Gadkari, under the new system, a person will only be paid for the distance traveled as opposed to the 75 km currently assessed for traveling even a little distance of 10 kilometres on a toll road. He disputed that there was a financial issue at the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Also, he claimed that NHAI is in excellent shape and has plenty of funding. He claimed that two banks had recently offered low-interest loans.
