One of the best-selling models in India is the XUV 700 SUV. By the end of 2024, Mahindra plans to release the XUV700 in an electric variant. At an event in the UK last year, the business unveiled the electric SUV (Mahindra XUV.e8) as its concept avatar. This electric SUV will be sold by the business under its own electric-only subbrand.
Will get a wide range
The INGLO platform, which is said to feature a common battery pack architecture with standardized cell-to-pack technology, will serve as the foundation for the electric model. In all of its electric SUVs built on the INGLO architecture, the firm will receive support for a 175kW fast charger, enabling the battery to be charged up to 80% in less than 30 minutes. With an 80kWh battery pack, the business estimates that this SUV will have a range of 435–450 km.
Design
The Mahindra XUV.e8 SUV concept has an angular appearance, a sharply sculpted bonnet, bumper-mounted headlamps, full broad LED light bars running down the bumper, and a closed-off front grille. Its back appearance resembles that of the ICE variant, though.
Size will increase
The Mahindra XUV 700 Electric SUV has a wheelbase of 2762mm and measures 4740mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1760mm in height. The dimensions of this SUV will be larger than those of its electric counterpart. The XUV700 electric will have an AWD (all-wheel drive) system and a battery pack with a capacity of up to 80 kWh, the company has already stated. Its electric motor will produce 230 to 350 horsepower. It will also have a variety of other functions, including the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.
Will face up against MG ZS EV
This electric SUV will go up against the MG ZS EV, which has two battery packs and a range of up to 461 kilometers on a single charge.
