The dates of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 test and the Indian Institute of Technology Combined Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) Mains Session 2 have been rescheduled by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Exam dates for Main Session 2 and CBSE Class 12 were previously conflicting.
Exam dates for CBSE Classes 10 and 12
were first published on December 12, 2023, however, they were later changed. The IIT-JEE dates from September of last year were also announced at the same time by NTA. Upon examining the two schedules, it was discovered that the exam dates overlapped. Before the commencement of the CBSE Class 12 examinations, the first Main 2024 session is slated to take place from January 24 to February 1. Exams for the CBSE class 12 will begin on February 15 at the same time.
The CBSE date sheet states that the class 12 board exams
would conclude on April 2 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. However, these board exams, which are slated to take place between April 1 and April 15, according to the NTA circular, conflict with the JEE Main Session 2 exam in 2024. CBSE has requested NTA to reschedule the second session of JEE Main for students and has urged parents to follow up with NTA. A representative for the CBSE reportedly stated, “Parents are advised to contact the NTA, while the board will also send a request.”

Director General Subodh Singh stated that although the organization had previously set a window for the second JEE Mains exam session between April 1 and April 15. The second session will now take place after April 3. The CBSE published the updated dates on January 4. Among the changes were the dates of exams for several subjects in Classes 10 and 12. The test date for CBSE Class 12 Fashion Studies was originally set for March 11. However, it has been rescheduled for March 21. The exam for Class 10 Tibetan has been rescheduled for February 23 instead of March 4, as originally planned. The retail test for class 10 was initially planned to take place on February 16 but has been rescheduled for February 28.
