Delhi’s AIIMS hospital to end cash payments from March 31! smart card payments to start

At the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi, a new patient facility will open. Cash payments will no longer be accepted at any of these counters. On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, an official statement containing this information was released. As of March 31, 2022, smart cards that can be used at various hospital locations around the clock will be distributed.

Dr. M. Srinivas, the director of AIIMS, stated that the State Bank of India will be consulted in the creation of this smart card. It will also be connected to the hospital’s billing system. This will greatly aid in the elimination of lengthy payment queues.

The hospital will no longer accept cash payments of any type with the introduction of the Smart Card. You will now need to use this card at the OPD desk, the cafeteria, and numerous other hospital locations. This could end up being a crucial step in the countrywide reduction of cash payments.

According to a directive from Director Professor M Srinivas, numerous patients were affected when an external service provider falsified the final discharge bills and overcharged.
