BMW India has introduced the i5 electric vehicle to the nation. The ex-showroom pricing is Rs 1.20 crore. Only the top-tier M60 xDrive form of the i5 will now be sold in India. In the BMW India range, this electric vehicle is priced between the i4 (Rs 72.5 lakh) and i7 (Rs 2.03 crore to Rs 2.5 crore). BMW India now offers 5 electric cars, including the iX1, iX xDrive50, i4, and i7, thanks to the introduction of the i5. I5 reservations opened on April 4.
The BMW i5 is outfitted with an 83.9kWh
(usable 81.2kWh) battery pack in the M60 xDrive model. This vehicle has a 516-kilometer range on a full charge (WLTP). It is equipped with two electric motors: one up front and one at the rear. Together they generate 601hp power and 795Nm torque. BMW claims that this vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds and its top speed is 230 kilometers per hour.

BMW is giving away an 11kW wall charger, but you can also purchase a 22kW AC charger separately if you’d like. According to the manufacturer, this car can accept 205kW of DC fast charging. This will allow it to charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. A 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster are standard on the BMW i5. Its infotainment system has video and gaming capabilities and is powered by the most recent version of BMW’s iDrive 8.5 OS. Its tires are 275/35 R20 in the back and 245/40 R20 in the front.
