In December 2022, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) introduced the Toyota Innova Hycross. Since then, sales of this car have been strong, and demand for it in India is extremely high. Bookings for the top model ZX and ZX(O) hybrid variants were discontinued by the firm in April 2023; they were reopened in April 2024. However, Toyota has once again discontinued accepting reservations for these high-end hybrid cars after just one month.
The lengthy wait time is the main cause of the cancellation of these train reservations. It is anticipated that reservations won’t open again for these hybrid variations until the approximately 15-month waiting time has passed. However, reservations are still open for the mid-level VX and VX (O) hybrid.
GX(O) Toyota Innova Hycross
In other news, the Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O) model, with a starting price of Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom), was recently announced by the business. This new variation, which comes in 7 and 8-passenger choices, costs Rs 1 lakh more than the previous GX variant. Included are a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a soft-touch dashboard, automatic climate control, dual-tone interior, and seats, LED frog lamps, sunshades for the rear seats (only available for 7 seats), a 360-degree camera, and a front parking sensor.
The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine powering
the Toyota Innova Hycross GX (O) Petrol generates 173 horsepower and 209 Nm of torque. The only automatic gearbox option available for this car is the CVT which transmits the power of the vehicle to the front wheels. The Hycross also has the option of a 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol engine which produces a total power of 184 horsepower and comes with an e-Drive transmission. The Innova Hycross’s two engines solely supply power to the front wheels; a manual transmission is not an option. According to the firm, a standard gasoline vehicle gets 16.13 kilometers per liter, while a hybrid gets 23.24 kilometers per liter.
