Toll Tax: The Indian automotive sector is poised for a revolution, according to Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, who stated on Wednesday that the industry must prioritize quality, after-sales services, and customer care. During a video address given at an event hosted by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), an organization that represents car dealers, Gadkari stated that car dealers are crucial to the government’s goal of creating an independent India.
He stated,
“The automotive industry is on the cusp of a revolution and as we look to the future. The sector must continue to innovate in areas such as customer service, after-sales services, and quality.” The Indian economy’s principal pillar is the automotive sector. He said that the Government attaches great importance to the role of FADA. And its members in driving the growth of the Indian economy. He assured all possible support of the Government to the Automotive retail sector. Gadkari said that the Automotive retail sector is a key pillar of India’s economy which generates annual revenue of about Rs 40,000 crore. And contributes Rs 95,000 crore to the Central and State Governments in the form of various taxes and duties.
According to the
Minister of Road Transport, the government’s objective is aligned with FADA’s emphasis on environmentally friendly dealership procedures and vehicle scrap policies.
No toll for 20 kilometers
A notification of modifications to the National Highway Fee Rules, 2008. It has been released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The letter makes it very clear that toll tax will be deducted from the car if it is driven more than 20 kilometers each day. The amount of this toll tax will depend on how far the car has traveled. If a car drives 20 kilometers on a highway every day or expressway, no tax will be charged to it. But if the vehicle travels more than 20 km, a toll will be charged to it.
