The requirements for obtaining a passport have been modified by the central government. A birth certificate will now be required to obtain a passport under the new regulations. The only official document proving the date of birth is the birth certificate.

It is crucial to remember that not everyone will be subject to this rule. Only anyone who was born on or after October 1, 2023, will be subject to these new regulations. In the past, driving licenses, mark sheets, and school leaving certificates were also used instead of birth certificates.

These individuals will not be subject to the rule.

It is important to note that those who were born before this date can obtain a passport without a birth certificate. As before, they can obtain a passport by presenting additional paperwork, such as their driver’s license and their school leaving certificate.

These rules have also changed.

We would like to inform you that the final page of the passport will no longer print residential addresses. The barcode can now be scanned by immigration agents to acquire information. Additionally, the final page of the passport will not carry the parents’ names. Children of isolated homes or those with single parents will benefit from this rule.
