Many of us wonder if we can convert from the previous tax regime to the new one when submitting our ITRs in any such circumstance.

There are two ways for taxpayers to submit their ITRs. These consist of the New Tax Regime and the Old Tax Regime. Taxpayers who earn around Rs 12 lakh a year will not be required to pay any taxes under the new tax system.

Nevertheless, this tax system does not offer numerous tax exemptions. Section 80C is one of these. A tax exemption of Rs 1.5 lakh is granted under Section 80C under the previous tax system. The advantages of the two tax regimes differ.

Taxpayers are presented

Taxpayers are presented with an option immediately when they file their ITR. When you are asked if you wish to remain exempt from the new tax regime under section 115BAC. Under the previous tax system, your tax will be automatically withheld if you choose “yes.”
