WhatsApp will soon offer voice and video calling capabilities on the web client, enabling users to make calls straight from their browser without having to download the app.
For its users, WhatsApp has some exciting news. Voice and video calls can now be placed straight from the WhatsApp web client. Actually, WhatsApp Web had a chat feature, but neither video calling nor phone calls were available. You had to use WhatsApp’s Windows or Mac program for this, but now WhatsApp web will also have all the calling functions.

What’s going to be novel?
Following the latest upgrade, WhatsApp Web will feature the same phone and camera icons as the WhatsApp app, allowing users to make voice and video calls. These icons will show up next to the chat name on the right side. As a result, consumers will find these calling functions to be just as easy to use and convenient as the app.
Voice and video calls can now be placed straight from your laptop or computer’s browser. You won’t need to download the WhatsApp desktop app for this. All of the popular browsers, including Chrome, Safari, and Edge, will support this feature.
What makes this feature unique?
Users will find this feature quite helpful as it allows them to make calls straight from their browser without the need to install an app. Particularly those users who use WhatsApp on their browsers for work-related purposes on a daily basis.

Apart from this, what else is new?
‘Advanced Chat Privacy’ is another new feature that WhatsApp has added. Users will no longer be able to export conversations or have material automatically download to their phones thanks to this functionality. Other than this, Meta AI will no longer be able to be asked questions or mentioned in chats.
