Due to October celebrations, a number of bank branches will be closed in different states. This is a comprehensive list of October 2025 bank holidays.

Bank branches will be closed for a maximum of 21 days in October. While online banking will continue to function, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has identified a few days in October 2025 when financial operations will be closed.

Some bank holidays will be local holidays, while others will be observed nationwide. Due to these celebrations, a number of bank branches will stay closed in different states. The list of significant days that banks will be closed in October should be noted down before you visit your local bank location.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar, banks will be closed for a total of 21 days in October, with the remaining days being weekends. You should be aware, though, that not all states or regions will experience a 21-day bank closure. This is the total number of days that state-observed holidays will cause banks across the nation to close.

For instance, bank branches may close in Assam for Kati Bihu but remain open in other states.

The Reserve Bank of India categorizes its holidays into three groups: Banks’ Closing of Accounts Holiday, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, and Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday. It should be mentioned, nevertheless, that different states have different bank holidays, and not all banking institutions follow them. The festivals observed in particular states or the announcement of particular events in those states also influence banking holidays.
