The government is expected to provide concessional fare facilities to people above 70 years of age. Earlier this facility was for women of 58 years and men who have completed 60 years of age.

In fact, till March 2020, women 58 years of age or above were given 50 percent concession in fares by the Railways and 40 percent for men aged 60 years or more. , This exemption was available for traveling by train in any class. 80 trains have a premium tatkal scheme,
