Car Comparison: Petrol, Diesel, CNG or EV Know which vehicle will be best for you to buy

Petrol vs Diesel vs CNG vs EV: There are many types of vehicles available in the automobile market. Which fall into segments like petrol, diesel, CNG, and EV segments. If you are also going to buy a new vehicle, then it is important for you to know which segment of the vehicle will be the best option according to your needs.

Changing mood of people

Until recently, only petrol and diesel-powered vehicles were used in the whole world including India. But after the development of new technologies and the steady rise in the prices of conventional fuels, people have turned to CNG first and then to electric vehicles. Nevertheless, the number of vehicles running on petrol and diesel is still very high. In the country’s capital Delhi, a petrol vehicle is allowed to run for 15 years. The maintenance cost of these vehicles is quite low as compared to diesel cars.

What do experts say

According to experts, it is best to buy a diesel car for those who have to travel a lot, because these cars give more mileage than petrol. While a petrol car is a great option for day-to-day operations, cities, and people traveling for short distances. However, diesel cars also have some disadvantages, such as they pollute more, their maintenance cost is also high and the biggest disadvantage is that in Delhi-NCR these vehicles are allowed to run for only 10 years. Also, there is not much difference between the prices of petrol and diesel, leaving very little difference in the cost per kilometer of both the vehicles.

There is also the option of CNG and EV

The use of CNG cars has also increased significantly due to the excess of pollution. These cars give more mileage than petrol and diesel, as well as the cost of CNG is also slightly less and the biggest thing is that they cause very little damage to the environment. But these cars also have some disadvantages like being equipped with a CNG kit, they have very less luggage space and some cars have no boot space at all. With the increase in the number of CNG cars, new filling stations are also opening rapidly, but their number is still very less. After this, the trend of electric vehicles also started increasing. Their biggest advantage is that the cost of running them is very less. But the long time taken for their charging and the lack of charging infrastructure in the country is the biggest obstacle in their future path.
