Indian Railways has earned Rs 92345 crore from freight traffic in the current financial year till October 2022. There has been an increase of 17 percent in freight earnings as compared to the year 2021. This year Railway has carried 855.63 MT of freight till 22nd October. There has also been an improvement of 9 percent as compared to the previous year. At the same time, till this period last year, only 786.2 metric tonnes of goods could be transported.
How much freight has been transported
In the month of October, 118.94 MT of freight has been transported as compared to 117.34 on October 21. This is an increase of 1.4% over the previous year. As of October 21st, freight earnings of Rs.13353 crores have been achieved against freight earnings of Rs.12313 crores, which is 8% higher than the previous year.
