The chairman of Indian Oil (IOCL), Shrikant Madhav (Srikant Madhav Vaidya), announced that all home gas cylinders will carry QR codes over the next three months. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri noted that this is a revolutionary move since customers would be able to follow LPG cylinders on the occasion of World LPG Week in 2022.

QR code will be welded on the new cylinder,

Customers will be able to obtain comprehensive information about the cylinder through the QR code, he claimed. For example, from where the cylinder is refilled and what safety tests have been carried out on the cylinder. On the old cylinder, the QR code will be welded, while on the new one, it will be posted through the label.

QR code embedded 20 thousand LPG cylinders issued

In the first phase, 20,000 LPG cylinders with QR codes were issued under a unit code-based track. Describe how a digital device can read this kind of barcode to let people know what it is. According to Puri, all 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders will have the QR code installed within the next three months.
