Missed job? Do not panic, this scheme of ESIC will get unemployment allowance; Learn How

ESIC Unemployment Benefits: Do not panic if you have lost your job. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana, 50% of the income is received as an unemployment allowance in the form of financial assistance.

Many people have lost their jobs during the Coronavirus period. According to CMIE, the average unemployment rate in India as of June 21 is at 10.6 percent. On June 7, unemployment had reached 12.99 percent. However, in the last two weeks, it has come down a bit. If we talk about last year, then in the nationwide lockdown, unemployment had crossed 24 percent. In such a situation, if you have also become unemployed then there is no need to panic. You can get an unemployment allowance under a scheme of ESIC (RGSKY Benefits).

What is RGSKY?

This scheme is Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana (RGSKY). This scheme giving unemployment allowance is being run since 2005. In this, if a person is covered under the ‘Person Employee State Insurance Scheme’, then he is given financial help when he becomes unemployed. Under this, 50 percent of the person’s income is given as unemployment allowance in the form of financial assistance. Let us tell you that this assistance is given for a maximum period of 2 years.

These are the necessary conditions 

There are some conditions along with the unemployment allowance received under this scheme. If the person is standing on those Sharon then only this allowance will be received. Let us know what are these conditions- 

1. Under the ESIC scheme run by the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment, the benefit of Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana is given. This scheme is for persons already covered under ESIC.

2. While sharing the information of this scheme on its Twitter handle, ESIC has told that in which case the benefit of this scheme (Unemployment Allowance) can be availed.

3. Under the ID Act, if the ESIC insured loses his job due to retrenchment or factory closure, he is eligible for unemployment allowance.

4. The insured person has to apply for unemployment allowance at the branch office. The branch office scrutinizes the claim of this application and forwards the application to the SRO or RO. Only after this, the person gets the allowance.
