Services expensive for SBI account holders from today! More money will have to be paid for cash withdrawal, checkbook from ATM!

SBI New Banking Charges: If your account is in the country’s largest bank State Bank of India, then from today you will have to spend more money on some services. SBI has changed the charges for these services, which have come into effect from July 1, 2021, i.e. today. SBI has changed many rules regarding cash withdrawal and the use of checks books from ATMs. Therefore, you should also read these rules carefully. 

SBI hikes service charge

From today, SBI has changed the service charge for withdrawing money from its ATMs and bank branches. This information was given on the official website of SBI. Accordingly, the new charges will be applicable on checkbooks, transfers, and other non-financial transactions. According to the bank, the new service charges will be applicable to SBI Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) account holders from July 1, 2021.

Withdrawing cash from ATM is expensive

State Bank of India has made some changes in the rules of its ATM and bank service. SBI customers will have to pay an additional charge for withdrawing money from the bank more than four times. Including bank ATMs. After withdrawing money four times, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 15 plus GST on every transaction. All new service charges will be applicable to SBI Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) account holders with effect from July 1, 2021.

SBI checkbook becomes expensive

SBI BSBD account holders are given 10 check leaves free of charge in a financial year, without any charges. But according to the new rules, Rs 40 plus GST will be charged for the next 10 leaves. At the same time, a checkbook with 25 checks will be charged Rs 75. 50 rupees plus GST charge will have to be paid on the emergency checkbook. However, senior citizens will be exempted from the new service charges on checkbooks. There will be no charge for withdrawal of money by bank BSBD account holders at home and from their own or another bank branch.

What is a BSBD account

Any person can open a BSBD account i.e. Basic savings bank deposit account. There is a separate KYC process for this. This account is specially opened to connect the poor and financially weak people with banking. There is no condition to maintain a minimum balance in this account. There is no limit on the maximum balance in this account. ATM card is given to the customer free of cost. Transactions through NEFT / RTGS are also free. There is no charge even if someone closes the account. Cash withdrawal up to four times a month is free. This account can be opened only by those who do not already have any other savings account.
