Honda has not yet entered the electric two-wheeler market, but it will soon add electric scooters to its lineup of products. Honda has announced that two electric scooters will be introduced in FY2024. Both of these will have swappable battery technology, but one of them will have a fixed battery configuration. Honda previously published the design sketches for each of these bikes. The Activa Electric model could be one of Honda’s forthcoming electric scooters.
In order to compete with electric scooters like the TVS iQube,
Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida. The company will attempt to release its model at a comparable pricing point. The future electric two-wheelers from Honda will ride on an entirely new platform. The new electric platform from Honda will be able to accommodate various battery layouts and configurations. Both fixed battery and swappable battery options will be supported.
Honda will purchase the majority of its parts from
regional suppliers in order to save production costs. The battery pack and power control unit (PCU) are included in this. Honda may make its future electric two-wheeler available for foreign markets as well, similar to its ICE scooters.
Over the years, sales of the Honda Activa have produced significant
revenue for the company. An identical incident also took place in March 2023. Activa had the highest scooter sales in March 2023. Activa has sold 1,74,503 units in total. Speaking of overall sales, in March 2023, 1,97,512 units were sold, compared to 3,09,549 units in March 2022. The sales of this company have decreased by 36.2 percent annually.
