New Delhi: Refund of Income Tax: There is some good news for taxpaying citizens. In the current fiscal year, the Income Tax Department refunded Rs 45,896 crore to 21.32 lakh taxpayers. This information was provided by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) via Twitter. Allow us to inform you that the IT department has issued refunds of Rs 13,694 crore in 21.32 separate cases. The CBDT had previously stated on July 30 that it has granted refunds of Rs 43,991 crore in the current fiscal year up to July 26. In addition, the CBDT has extended the deadline for filing several forms electronically under the Income Tax Act of 1961.

If your ITR is not confirmed in the profile, send a request for re-verification with the help of your Aadhaar or send the signed ITR-V form to the Income Tax CPC office by speed post. The amount of the refund will not be credited to your account until you and the department have completed this process. By submitting a complaint petition with the CPC or the Assessing Officer, taxpayers can request that the agency process their ITRs more quickly.
