It’s time to revamp your brand in such a situation.
Name and handle of the channel
The two components that make up your YouTube identity are the handle (like @yourname), which shows up in clips, tags, and the channel URL, and the channel name, which stands for your videos, profile, and brand. The good news is that you don’t have to be an expert in technology to modify either.
How can a YouTube channel name be changed from a mobile device?
- On your phone, launch the YouTube app.
- In the upper right corner, tap the profile picture.
- Choose the View Channel.
- Next to your name, tap Edit.
- Enter a new name for the channel.
- Press “Save.”
How do I modify the channel name on my computer?
- Use any web browser to access YouTube.
- Click on the profile button in the top right and then open YouTube Studio
- Navigate to the Customization > Basic Information area.
- There, type the new channel name.
- Press the “Publish” button.
Note: Up to twice every 14 days, you are able to modify the name of your channel. A new name must be available because changing your channel name may result in the removal of your verification badge.
