There is growing speculation that TikTok will enter India.

The return of TikTok to India has been the subject of conjecture for the last several days. In the meantime, it has once again benefited from these job opportunities. However, Indian officials recently stated that TikTok would not be returning to India anytime soon, ending the debates around the app’s reintroduction.

According to Bytedance, the app is still prohibited in India. In this case, some are speculating that the government might be thinking about relaxing the restriction after viewing this job opening on a professional networking site like LinkedIn. In 2020, TikTok was prohibited due to the escalating geopolitical tensions between China and India.

Which two positions are up for grabs?

For its Gurgaon branch, Bytedance has listed two job openings on LinkedIn: a Wellbeing Partnership and Operations Lead position and a Content Moderator with Bengali language skills. Within three days of the job posting on August 29, 2025, over 100 applications were received.

It is important to remember that although the company’s website has begun to reopen in India, it is still not accessible for download on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has clarified that the rumors that TikTok is entering India are untrue.
