OpenAI Offers Free ChatGPT Go Subscription in India

Following Perplexity and Google, OpenAI has now made its premium plan free for Indian users. Starting November 4th, people will be able to access ChatGPT Go for free.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has made Indian users happy. The company has announced that it will offer all its users in India a free subscription to ChatGPT Go for one year. This subscription costs ₹399 per month, but as part of a promotional offer, all users will be able to access it for free. It’s worth noting that India is one of the company’s largest markets, and it aims to reach as many users as possible with this offer.

OpenAI said that ChatGPT Go has doubled its subscriber base within a month of its launch. However, the company has not released any figures for this. ChatGPT Go is available in 90 markets worldwide, including India. ChatGPT head Nick Turley said, “Ahead of our first DevDay Exchange event in India, we are making ChatGPT Go available for free. We look forward to seeing what our users create, learn, and achieve with it.” ChatGPT Go will be available without a subscription starting November 4th.

Prior to OpenAI, Perplexity was providing free access to its premium Perplexity Pro to approximately 360 million users in India. The company has partnered with Airtel to do this. Airtel users can use Perplexity Pro without paying a dime. Google is also making premium AI tools available for free to students in India.
