Malware attacks are becoming more common. This assault has impacted a large number of users this year. Spyware named PhoneSpy has been discovered infecting handsets in Korean marketplaces across the United States in a new round of Android malware attacks. This malware has been discovered infecting 23 Android apps, however, none of them are tied to any of the apps available on the Google Play Store, happily.

‘Unlike other spyware operations we’ve documented that take advantage of device vulnerabilities,’ said Zimperium, a malware reporter. PhoneSpy appears to be a programme.’

– A complete list of apps that have been installed

– Using phishing to steal credentials

– Stealing photographs

– Tracking GPS coordinates

– Stealing SMS messages

– Stealing phone numbers

– Call logs have been stolen.

– Real-time audio recording

– Use the front and rear cameras to record video in real-time.

– Using the front and rear cameras to snap images using the camera.

– Send an SMS to an attacker-controlled phone number with text controlled by the attacker.

– Exfiltrating information from devices (IMEI, Brand, Device name, Android version).

– Remove the icon from the device’s drawer/menu to conceal your presence.

How can you protect yourself against this malware?

Malware continues to proliferate on Android devices in Korea and the United States. These are things to bear in mind if you’re using an Android device.

-Avoid using untrustworthy third-party app shops to download and install apps. To get all of your apps, go to the Google Play Store.
