The Indian cricket team has to go on a tour of South Africa in the first week of December, where 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 4 T20 International matches are to be played. Amidst the growing impact of the Omicron variant of Corona in South Africa, there is a cloud of crisis on the tour of the Indian team. The Indian cricket team has to tour South Africa from December 17, but in the meantime, a big statement has come from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, which has increased the chances of this tour happening.
Team India has to go to South Africa
Team India has to play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 4 T20 International matches in its almost 7-week tour starting from December 17. These matches will be played in four venues Johannesburg, Centurion, Paarl, and Cape Town. Cases are increasing in the northern part of South Africa and at least two of the Test series grounds Johannesburg and Pretoria (closer to Centurion) may be vulnerable to this new variant.
Foreign Ministry clarified
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa has now made it clear that Team India will be given all kinds of security. When the Indian team comes to South Africa, it will get a full bio bubble environment. Team India will not face any kind of problem. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa has also thanked the BCCI, as the India-A team is still playing matches in South Africa.

India A team is currently on a tour of South Africa. PTI contacted the administrative officer in Bloemfontein along with India A team. He said, ‘We did not have to go through a strict quarantine when we reached here because we had come by chartered plane and were living in a big bubble. Cricket South Africa’s medical team held a meeting with our representatives here after new cases were found.
