Importance of holashtak
According to the scriptures, worshiping the Lord during Holashtak is considered auspicious. It is said that during this time a tree branch is cut and planted on the ground and colored cloth is tied on it. The branch of this tree is believed to be the form of Prahlad, a devotee of Vishnu. It is said that in the area where the branch of that tree is planted, no auspicious work is done in that area till Holika Dahan.
Do not do this work during Holashtak
It is considered forbidden to do Manglik work for 8 days in Holashtak. It has been said in the scriptures that on these days auspicious work like naming ceremony, janeu sanskar, home entry, marriage ceremony should not be done. At the same time, no kind of Havan, Yagya Karma is also performed these days. It has also been told in the scriptures that the girls who are newly married at the time of Holashtak should stay in their maternal home.
What day is Holi (Holi 2022 Date)
Holika Dahan is done on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month. This year the full moon of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month is falling on 17th March, so Holika Dahan will happen on 17th March 2022. On the next day, Holi with color is played on the Pratipada date of Chaitra month, that is, Holi with this color will be played on March 18, 2022.
