New Fortuner to ride with a strong hybrid turbo diesel engine, know when will it be launched

2023 Toyota Fortuner: If the budget of SUV lovers in India is big, then they show great interest in buying Toyota Fortuner, apart from the customers, big leaders and ministers also like this SUV very much. The company can present this powerful SUV with a new diesel hybrid engine. According to a media report, the mild hybrid turbo-diesel variant of the Toyota Fortuner is going to be launched in India soon. When that happens, the Fortuner will be the first Toyota SUV to get the new mild-hybrid diesel engine. It is being speculated that the new variant of the SUV will be launched early next year.

Powerful New Mild Hybrid Turbo Diesel Engine
Toyota will first launch this new SUV in Thailand, after which it will be introduced in the rest of the market. The hybrid variant of the Toyota Fortuner will come with a 2.8-liter diesel engine that will be equipped with a hybrid system along with an integrated start generator on the lines of Suzuki. The 2.8-liter diesel engine of the Fortuner Legend currently sold in Thailand makes 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The company has provided sequential shift and paddle shift functions with the engine with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The new model of Innova Crysta is also ready for launch
Apart from the new generation of Fortuner, Toyota is working on a 2022 model of the Innova Crysta, which is expected to make its global debut in November this year. Last time both the Innova and Fortuner were introduced together in the new generation and something similar is expected this time too. Currently, the Innova is being sold in a rear-wheel-drive setup, while both the Fortuner and Hilux are offered in a 4-wheel drive option, so the company may offer the new Innova a front-wheel-drive system.

Front-wheel drive setup for 2023 Innova!
Petrol and petrol-hybrid engine options can be given with the 2023 model. The petrol engine of the car can be found in the existing Toyota Innova, while the petrol-hybrid will be something new. The current MPV comes with 2.7-liter naturally aspirated petrol and 2.4-liter diesel engines. The first of these engines makes 164 Bhp power and 245 Nm peak torque, while its oil burner engine makes 148 Bhp power and 360 Nm peak torque. The company has given a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter gearbox in both these engines.
