New Renault Duster: Renault-Nissan has confirmed the launch of three new models in the Indian market. The lineup includes the new-generation Renault Duster, Nissan’s Triber-based 7-seater MPV, and a new entry-level electric car. The carmaker plans to invest around Rs 500 million (Rs 4,000 crore) for its upcoming products. The new Renault Duster (3rd generation) will hit the Indian market by 2024-2025. The SUV will be designed on the CMF-B modular platform, which will also be seen in Nissan’s new 7-seater SUV.

The design and styling of the new Renault Duster will be similar to the Dacia Bigster concept. It can be expected to share body panels with the Bigster and design elements like LED lighting, fenders, and integrated aluminum-styled skid plates. The production-ready version of the SUV could feature conventional door handles. If reports are to be believed, the new-gen Duster will be bigger and more spacious than the current model. Its length will be 4341mm. Elements of the Dacia Bigster concept can also be seen in the interiors.

The SUV could get features like a digital instrument cluster, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, and new switchgear. As far as the engine is concerned, the new Renault Duster can be equipped with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine with 48V hybrid technology. The combined power output will be around 130bhp. The SUV could also be made available with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine. It could get an AWD (all-wheel drive) system with higher ground clearance and better approach and departure angles.

When launched, the new Duster will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun in the mid-size SUV segment.

2. Off-roading Capability

The biggest difference between the RWD Thar and the 4WD Thar is the off-roading capability. The RWD Thar gets power only to the rear wheels. On the other hand, in 4X4 Thar, you can also give power to the front wheel if needed, which makes traveling on difficult roads easier.

3. Exteriors

From the outside, both the Thar are almost identical. The only difference is in the badging. While the 4WD Thar gets ‘4X4’ badging, the RWD Thar gets no such badging. Also, the RWD Thar is only available in a hard-top roof option. While the 4WD also gets the option of a convertible soft-top. Mahindra has also introduced two new color options on the RWD Thar: Blazing Bronze and Everest White, which were previously not available on the 4WD Thar.

4. Interior

There is no major change in the interior as well. However, the RWD Thar misses out on the 4X4 gear lever. Instead, you get a small storage space that you can use to keep phone, keys, or coins.

5. Price

RWD Thar prices start at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This price is Rs. 3.60 lakh less than the entry-level 4WD Thar. For those who wanted to buy the Thar for city driving but couldn’t do so due to the high cost, the RWD option could be a good option.

Based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has banned 138 betting apps and 94 lending apps originating from China. The government has banned a total of 230 apps in India under section 69 of the IT Act. If sources are to be believed, this has been confirmed by top government officials. At the same time, it is being told that the government has taken this action on the complaints of extortion and harassment from the common people.

Apps had relation with China

The app is said to be the brainchild of Chinese nationals who allegedly hired Indians and made them key directors. As per reports, desperate individuals were lured into taking loans and were then charged interest of up to 3,000 percent annually. At the same time, when the customer could not pay the interest, the representatives of these apps started harassing him.

It is learned that several representatives of the app threatened customers by releasing morphed photos of borrowers and defaming them. The matter came into the limelight after several suicides, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, by people who took loans from such apps and lost money in betting apps. According to sources in states like Telangana, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, the central intelligence agencies then asked the Union Home Ministry to take action against the app.

Based on the inputs, the Home Ministry started an analysis of 28 Chinese lending apps six months ago. They found that 94 apps are available on the e-store and others are working through third-party links. These apps are no longer available for download on smartphones, but sources say that betting apps and games are now being downloaded through independent links or websites.
