In June 2021, Motorola released the Defy Rugged Phone in Europe, including Gorilla Glass Victus protection, a triple camera configuration, and a larger battery. A phone with the model number XT2083-8 is shown on the certification, which is a Motorola Defy Rugged smartphone. The Brazilian Telecommunications Authority has given its approval for its release in the region.
