Air India Ltd. TATA: Air India flights will no longer be operated under the Tata group’s banner as of Thursday. It is worth noting that after acquiring the airline from the group approximately 69 years ago, it is now being returned to the Tata group.
TATA Takes Over Air India: Following the Central Government’s handover of the airline Air India to the Tata Group on Thursday, the airline will make some changes to its flights beginning on Thursday. She will be the first of them to begin providing nutritious breakfast. According to private company officials, the Tata group has taken its first step in Air India by introducing an ‘advanced meal service’ on four flights departing from Mumbai on Thursday.
However, for the time being, Air India flights will not operate under the Tata group banner beginning on Thursday. It is worth noting that the airline, which was taken from the group about 69 years ago, is now being returned to the Tata group, according to officials on Wednesday.
The bid was for Rs. 18000 crores.
After a competitive bidding process, the government sold Air India to Tales Pvt Ltd on October 8 for Rs 18,000 crore. It is a subsidiary of the Tata Group’s holding company. On Wednesday, officials stated that all formalities were nearing completion. On Thursday, Air India is expected to be handed over to the group.
Meanwhile, the Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) and the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) have threatened legal action against Air India Chairman and Managing Director Vikram Dev Dutt. This is thought to be due to multiple deductions and recoveries on the pilots’ dues.
The Air India Employees Union is demonstrating.
Aside from that, two other unions have objected to the company’s January 20 order to measure crew members’ body mass index (BMI) at airports just before their flights. The Air India Employees Union (AIEU) and the All India Cabin Crew Association (AICCA) wrote to Dutt on Monday, saying the order was inhumane and violated the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s rules.
