Kia Carens vs Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

The Kia Carens is 4,540 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,800 mm tall, and has a 2,780 mm long wheelbase. In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is 4,395 mm longer, 1,735 mm wider, 1,690 mm longer, and has a 2,740 mm longer wheelbase. These figures show that the Kia Carens is taller, wider, and taller than the Ertiga. The Kia three-row vehicle also has a longer wheelbase, a difference that usually translates into more legroom for passengers. Now, Kia hasn’t revealed the boot space of the Carens, so we can’t say whether it is bigger than the 209-liter boot space of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga along all three lines.

But based on the above data, it is safe to say that the Carens will offer more cabin space than the Ertiga. Cairns has a clear upper hand in this area; Depending on the variant chosen, the Cars will get provisions like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster, automatic AC, Kia Connect suite of connected technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front ventilated seats, sunroof, multiple driving modes.

Which Is The Bigger One?

The Carens are the longest, widest, and also the tallest car which means it is much longer than the Ertiga. The Carens also look bigger while having a more radical SUV-like look while the Ertiga is more of a typical MPV design. The Carens also have an SUV-like 195 mm ground clearance vs the Ertiga at 180 mm.

Engine, performance, and safety overview
Since the Kia Carens share its powertrain with the Seltos, it is equipped with 3 engines. A 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 115 hp power and 144 Nm of peak torque is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which is standard with the other two engines as well. A 1.5-liter diesel engine makes 115 hp power and 250 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic. These two engines are practicality-oriented and highly suited for family trips in India in a 7-seater car. With linear power delivery, the Kia Carens offer a wonderfully smooth ride experience.
