Clinical all-around performance helped Chennai Super Kings in the 55th match of IPL 2022 under Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium on Sunday.
Chennai Super Kings were called to bat at 208-6 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals, thanks to a brilliant half-century from Devon Conway (87 off 49).
Apart from Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad (41 off 33) and Shivam Dube (32 off 19) also made significant contributions with the bat for CSK. Down the order, MS Dhoni (21 off 8) and Moeen Ali (9 off 4) finalized Chennai’s innings.
The wicket-takers for Delhi included Enrique Nortje (3/42), Khaleel Ahmed (2/28), and Mitchell Marsh (1/34).
In reply, David Warner (19 off 12), Mitchell Marsh (25 off 20), and Rishabh Pant made a quick start at 21 for 11 but they could not play a big inning for Delhi. In the end, Delhi was bundled out for 117 runs in 17.4 overs after losing by a huge margin of 91 runs.
With their win, CSK moved up to the ninth spot in the IPL 2022 points table.
