Increased competition due to Jio
The industry started increasing tariffs from December 2019 onwards after the stiff competition that started after the arrival of Reliance Jio. According to the report, “…the top three companies are expected to see a strong growth of 20-25 percent in revenue during the current fiscal.” The report further said that after a slow growth of 5 percent in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) in 2021-22, it is now expected to grow by 15-20 percent in 2022-23.
