Aadhaar card holders can now verify their identity through face authentication. An app has been launched for this. The company has named it Aadhaar FaceRD. It has been launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Android users can download this app from Google Play Store. According to the report, with the help of face authentication technology, this app does a live capture of a person’s face for Aadhaar authentication.
Face authentication can be used for many Aadhaar authentication apps like Jeevan Pramaan, Ration Distribution (PDS), Kovin Vaccination App, Scholarship Scheme, and Kisan Kalyan Schemes. UIDAI also tweeted about this on July 12.
The tweet said that the Aadhaar Face Authentication feature can be used through the UIDAI RD App. It can be used for multiple Aadhaar authentication apps. Let us tell you that the Aadhaar Face Authentication technology has been developed by UIDAI itself.
According to a Livemint report, with this app, the Aadhaar holder will no longer need to scan the iris and fingerprint for physical identification by visiting the locator Aadhaar Enrollment Center. This verification validates the real identity of the Aadhaar holder.
To use it, you have to download Aadhaar FaceRD from Google Play Store. After this follow the guide given on the app and click on Proceed. For face authentication, your face should be light and your background should be clear.
