Grand Vitara by Maruti Suzuki is One such car that people are really interested in learning about. With the Creta and Seltos, the business has entered the compact SUV market. Maruti Suzuki has also made a lot of significant claims regarding this car. claim that it will be the SUV with the highest mileage in the nation. There are two different hybrid engine options available for this car: a mild hybrid and a powerful hybrid. The second assertion is that it has off-roading capabilities as well. In addition, the business made an effort to make it highly feature-rich and futuristic. We drove this car to see if it lived up to the promises that were made about it.
How is the Exterior: In terms of appearance, an effort has been made to give the car a highly futuristic aspect. It receives a sizable chrome grille and stunning LED DRLs. When we typically see fog lamps is where the headlamp configuration is visible. It has a somewhat brash and aggressive front fascia. You can observe a powerful shoulder line and 17-inch machine-cut alloy wheels on the side. Its taillamp configuration, which is joined by an LED bar, was also appealing to me.
Interior with Lots of Features: Much like the premium exteriors, the interiors contain a lot of features. It sports a 9-inch touchscreen that allows wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Although having amenities like an integrated music player and navigation system would have made it even better. A 7-inch digital display for the driver is also included, although only on models with powerful hybrid engines. Additionally, you have access to a wireless charger, head-up display, and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the vehicle has features like front ventilated seats and more than 40 linked car capabilities.
Engine and Mileage: There are two engine choices available for this Maruti flagship SUV. It comes with an e-CVT and a 1.5-liter petrol engine with Strong Hybrid Technology. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder also uses this particular engine. The output of this variation is 114 horsepower. The most fuel-efficient SUV in India, according to Maruti Suzuki, achieves a mileage of 27.97 km per liter. A 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine with 101 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque makes up the second engine. This engine is available with a 5-gear manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Off-Roading Capability: The manufacturer offers an all-wheel drive with its manual gearbox as an additional option. You can choose from modes including Snow, Sport, AWD Lock, and Auto in this variation. According to the manufacturer, you can drive this SUV on rough roads thanks to these features. We also tested it off-road using a variety of tracks developed by Maruti for that purpose.
In contrast, the AWD system will provide varying degrees of traction in the Snow and Sports modes. At the same time, the lock mode constantly activates AWD. When the auto mode is selected, the vehicle continuously switches between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It won’t be referred to as an actual off-road vehicle, but it can navigate challenging barriers when necessary.
How to Drive: We have driven this vehicle with both of its engine configurations. Only the e-CVT gearbox is available in the Strong Hybrid version. You get a nice, rapid response and performance from this. However, if you drive too quickly, you’ll hear some engine noise. This variant includes the Ev Mode and Drive Mode. This car’s EV mode allows it to run entirely on batteries. It can be powered by batteries for up to 40kmph speed. The engine is then used in conjunction with this. While the car is in motion, the battery continues to charge.
We also received a moderate hybrid model with a 6-speed AMT transmission. We have found his performance a bit lackluster. Although its manual version functions a little bit better. Overall, the Strong Hybrid model offers excellent performance, fantastic mileage, and additional amenities. But as a result, the most expensive model will also not change.
Price and Competition: The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has an approximate starting price of Rs. 10 lakh. The cost of its powerful hybrid variant may reach Rs 18–19 lakh. Grand Vitara will face competition from models like the Kia Selos, Hyundai Creta, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder once it is released. The launch window is at the end of September. This vehicle must be sold through the Nexa dealership.
